Pan Seared Steak

This is a super quick and easy recipe for pan searing steaks. As always choose a toxin free, ceramic, stainless steel, cast iron, or carbon steel pan to cook with. And make sure to keep your exhaust fans running to remove an excess condensation and odors that might build up while cooking.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp kerrygold unsalted butter
  • 8 oz top sirloin filet
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder

Instructions
 

  • Take filet out of package and set on plate 
  • Pat steak dry with paper towels 
  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder 
  • Rub seasoning in with hands 
  • Allow steak to sit while cooking side dishes until steak is at room temp 
  • Heat pan to medium heat and add 1 tbsp kerrygold unsalted butter 
  • Let cook on one side for 15 seconds and then flip to the other side for another 15 seconds
  • This is called searing and will form a crunchy thick crust on both sides to retain the moisture 
  • For medium steaks cook about 2.5 min each side turning steaks every 30 seconds for about 5-7 minutes in total
  • Remove steak from pan and allow it to rest for about 3 min
